Niki and Mika

Right now I'm jamming to Mika's "Elle me dit" ::

I haven't stopped re-playing this jam, probably mostly thanks to the charming old man in the video.  I actually first heard it in Ecomarche, a French grocery store, in St. Pons de Thomieres.  I've been searching for the tune on all the top French charts, and finally found it this morning.  Glowing in its international glory, although the track is in French, Mika is a Brit.  You might have already heard his "Grace Kelly," "Love Today," "Blame it on the Girls" and "We are Golden."  I believe this one beats em' all.

While you listen, you should look:

I went to a Niki de Saint Phalle expo at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.  Her mother was American, and her father was French.  Born in 1930, she passed in 2002.  Boy did she leave us with some pretty amazing sculptures and paintings.  Pretty sure her and I are kindred spirits.

La Cabeza, 2000

Vive Moi, 1968

Horus, 1990

She made a film in 1973 called "Daddy." It's apparently pretty disturbing and speaks to the sexual abuse she endured as a child.  Doubt I'll get around to watching it; disturbing films aren't really my cup of tea.

No visual pun intended.

Burp.

So, a couple months passed:

That about sums it up.
